For disabled people, using LETIsmart means regaining possession of spaces of their city and living a more independent and happy life.
The associations of visual and motor disabilities have a fundamental role in signaling to authorities the best systems to help their members to have a rich and independent life, like that of all citizens. This right is guaranteed by law and international conventions. - Sharing of interest from an association of end users.Disabled people’s associations contact LETIsmart to share interest in using the system in their city.
- Panel discussions with associations of the disabled, departmens of locat authorities and transport companies.In order to let the project work it is necessary to manage operations of all actors involved.
- Technical, regulatory and economic checks and exploration of financing opportunities.Public administration and LETIsmart start technical checks on both feasibility and cost coverage, exploring the availability of ad hoc financing.
- Infrastructure installationLETIsmart installs the tags managing the activities with public administration and transport companies.
- Creating a user base.LETIsmart meets the user base and trains them on the use of the system, in order to fully exploit the potential of the signaling network.

Trieste: a study case
Trieste is the first city which experimented with LETIsmart system on all public transport, sound traffic lights, points of interest, and urban and commercial information. Subsequently, other cities equally attentive to the autonomy of people with disabilities and accessible tourism have adopted this system.
Trieste is a real example of a truly inclusive city that adopted the LETIsmart system, restoring full citizenship to the visually impaired people.
